By reading this I agree, Emerson would write like this in 2018. For example on Emerson's essay "On Self-Reliance" talks about many people looking outside the box for their truth selves, and how they just trying to fit in society. Now on this article it's basically saying this and it explains how this has been around from many generations, and how people don't cut those chains, because they're not letting their truth voices to come out.
I agree as well. If Emerson were writing in 2018, his work would be identical to that of the article. Emerson’s “ On-self Reliance” focused on the idea that people should seek answers within themselves rather than from others and that people should believe in themselves. From my opinion the article was going the same direction as in we should learn to not fall into the influence of social norms.
This made my shitty morning a lot better. I love how an idea as big as self reliance is explained with simple pictures; I'm a visual learner so it was nice seeing all those little drawings and stuff. Who knew mammoths could be so funny? I just subscribed to this website :)
